    Anyone feel the earthquake?

    HK Observatory reported an earthquake near the coast of Southeast China, with tremors felt in HK... did anyone feel it? Didn't feel anything on our side...

    @ObservatoryHK tweet:
    "Earthquake: 2014-01-27 12:47HKT M1.8 [22.38N,114.05E] near coast of Southeastern China. Felt in HK, intensity 2 on MMI scale."

    Not a thing but looks like it was a tiny one. Bigger tremors from the guys moving stuff around in the upstairs office.
    I remember the ones where I used to live and they really did give you the willies.

    1.8 richter scale. Think the jack hammer outside would measure more than that.

    Nope. Last time I felt a tremor was on the 14 th Dec, lining up to check in baggage at Tokyo Narita. That one lasted 1 min , 25 secs about and was measured 5.6 richter. Weirdest feeling I have every experienced....but kind of enjoyed it.

    Trance you big wuss, either you were having get booze shakes or just nervous to check what your weight was but I don't believe there would be a tremor if you jumped on your scales.

    Well the bath shakes when I do.
    Joking aside, I used to think it was a buzz when a quake came along. Then I was in a middle of a 7.8 which lasted 45 seconds and was probably the most terrifying moment of my life. It also killed over 17,000 so I am always jumpy when I feel one but i know there is little chance of one that size hitting here.
