Try to find in Broadway Shop because their deal is mostly better than in Fortress or PCCW.

Shame that they can't produce an English website for us. Personally, I think Chung Yuen give better deals.

KIA, Expansys are very expensive. I now buy all my phones online from the UK as they tend to be significantly cheaper there.

This is a useful thread for me but I have a couple questions to add...

Since I am only here until early August, are there places that rent out phones for more than a few days at a time? Or would I be better off just buying one that I can sell later on? I know that I could just buy a GSM phone and bring it back to Canada with me, but I already have a CDMA phone back there on a suspended contract, and I don't really have the need for two. Also what cell phone providers do plans by the month, or do I have to get a pay-as-you-go plan? And even then, who offers best value for PAYG plans?

Haha, ok I'm done now. Thanks.

Both Sunday and Peoples provide monthly plans without contracts.

One of the best places that I've found is called "Mobile phone direct selling" center. They're all over the place, including Central and Sheung Wan. Have bought several phones from them.
Found the Central one by accident this morning. It's next to the Queen's Theatre on Theatre Lane (I think) a couple of doors up from SmarTone. Not a huge selection and an even smaller shop (I think it's under some stairs) but the staff are decent, pleasant and not in-yer-face. Sadly, no pdas like the SE 910 or even the Treo 650. However, I did find an O2 Atom battery which I may go back to buy.
