PDLM: Read my message. There was no sticking of an extra page, but validation of an extra page that otherwise would not have been allowed for stamping purpose.

Your accusation does not dignify an answer as this is exactly what I managed to get for my passport. Period.

I am not going to answer further any of your accusations here as this is pointless. Go ahead and spend your time breaking your record of 6,000 messages on the site. I don't have time for this.

I only make a point when I have something to contribute.

BTW, if you do not have a British passport, I would urge you to ask one of your British friends to show you the page I was referring to.

PDLM was referring to your original post Global kid. While I may have disagreed with PDLM in the past, I now realize he almost always knows what he's talking about. He's not one to sugarcoat things (which I don't consider a fault at all), but he is definitely one of the more reliable sources on this site.

I'm struggling here. Your only previous post in this thread in its entirety says:

And the "this" in pin's post refers to the adding of pages to a passport as practised by the US and lkinked in my post:

Can you please enlighten me how I or any other reader is supposed to infer from that these that when you said "the same service" you didn't mean the same service at all - you actually meant the revalidation of one of the pages in your existing passport for a different use? They are not the same things at all.

And yes I have a British passport and have used the passport services of the HK Consulate many times.

While I don't agree with PDLM's views and style of writing on occasions, I am totally in agreement with him on this one.

I asked about the adding of extra pages in passports, like they do in the UK, didn't mention anything about validating an extra page (which BTW I'm not aware UKPA offer anymore anyway, but could be wrong, did search the UKPA website (btw its not called UKPA anymore but the new passport agency, something about ID agency or something, but for the intents of this post am calling it the UKPA)).

They were checking every single page of my (jumbo) passport and were checking every page wtih PRC stamp (quite a few) with their machine, then a supervisor came and did the same thing. Seems like they are being over zealous (sorry I mean very careful about security) at the moment. I asked what the issue was, was told "just checking".
If they do this to me, it will be a long afternoon. My passport is full of PRC stamps.

So to conclude this thread for archival search:

-US Passports can have extra pages added
-UK passports cannot have additional pages attached, however:
-it may be possible to use the page that describes your child's particulars as a visa page, if you have such a passport that is still valid
-plastic page *** describing "Observations" in biometric passports may also be certified for use as a visa page

*** This page, if not blank, usually denotes countries for which the bearer is forbidden entry

    Hi All,

My wife is a US citizen (i'm not) and she has used up all the visa pages in the passport which expires in 2012. I have seen the US embassy website in detail but here are some questions I am not sure about.

    1. She was born there and then returned at age of 4 to india.
    2. She has not returned to US since then.

    3. She applied for the passport in 2002 in India and got the US passport. She does not have the US SSN and does not work (is a house wife)

Please let me know if the US law requires a permanent address and/or a SSN to get the extra visa pages added to the passport.

The form I saw on the website has these fields so I am bit confused and we want to get things clear before we apply. We are travelling to sg & malaysia in 3 weeks times and would need some blank pages on the passport I guess

Please let me know if its OK if we dont dont have SSN and if the permanent address is not in the US

    Thanks a lot!
