By appointment only, but in about an hour while you wait. Details here: Adding Pages to Your U.S. Passport - Consulate General of the United States Hong Kong and Macau

(By the way, that must have taken me less time to find than it took you to post here. Is there something non-obvious about going to the US Consulate website and finding that "Adding Pages to Your Passport" is the first Quick Link on the US Citizens' page?)

BTW why can't the UK government also do this, saves having to get a new passport before the old one has expired.

I have added pages two or three times at the Consulate and find the wait has ranged from less than 30 minutes to more than 90. Bring something to read, just in case. And avoid the day after a holiday.

i like geo expat better. people give anecdotes along with their helpful information, and if people are happy to answer, what's the big deal?
wouldn't you rather get your answers from people than just a boring government website?

Only if I had an equal degree of confidence in the people as in the government website...

There is often more to the story than a government website will ever reveal.

British Consulate does offer the same service

    Hi Pin,

FYI, the British Consulate in HK does offer the same service. I have had this done before.
