apparently people under 18 arent allowed in?

its a bit of WTH moment.. since I jus wanted to buy mark 6... an Icouldnt really hand the kid to a passin stranger..

is it really the case that a 5 month baby cant be taken into there? on what rational I cant work out - 12 year old kid yeh I gettit -

but to buy a lottery ticket?!! with a baby? i was tryin to reason - but then some guy actually grabbed me by the arm?

    ridiculous!!

Is a pregnant woman allowed inside? if yes, what would happen if she suddenly went into labour and gave birth? Would security decide it is against regulations and kick her and the new born baby out?

Happened to me before with my kid when he was about 3. Actually, I support it. Much easier for everyone and it's not actually designed for people like us...it's designed to stop the type of father who would spend the whole day at the betting shop with their kid if they could.

This is the best argument you could think of or were you drunk when you came up with this?

I'd hope if someone went into labour in a Jockey Club branch they'd kick her straight out into an ambulance to be taken to a hospital for the delivery. Even if the delivery happened in the amulance it'd be better handled by paramedics than the fag-smoking old geezers you usually get waiting for the horse races.

HK and its adherence to unreasonable rules, welcome to the city. I've often marvel at how zealous some of these security guards enforce rules that confound common sense. Oh well, I guess it keeps these guards employed in the city...

What's unreasonable about keeping kids out of betting shops?

I understand OPs point, but what would be the cut off point when kids should not be allowed in? Two years? Three?

Who said anything about not letting kids bet as unreasonable?

What is unreasonable is preventing someone from entering because he's bringing a baby who clearly is too young to be even capable of betting.,,
