    fake note

    Hi Guys

I got my HK$ changed to Yuan for shopping in Shenzhen. I got them exchanged from a small shop in TST .

Out of them, 1 100 yuan note is fake. I gave it to 3 different shopkeepers in Shenzhen and they told me that its fake.

Not that 100 yuan is damn imp. but i just feel bad for being cheated. What do you think I will can do?

(my mistake) the shopkeeper did not give me a receipt and i did not ask for it. he just wrote the exchange rate on a blank piece of paper.

is there anything you think I can do to get that 100 yuan back to him (an indian small fx shop)?

if i go and tell him, i am 95% sure that he is going to say that teh note is not from him
    thanks!

If it's a good fake, just keep it as a souvenir and chalk it up to experience.

No way? Fake product in SZ?? Who would have thought that possible?

That's why I get all my RMB from HSBC in HK.

Did you get it changed at Chung King? I've never been slipped a fake note there. I guess they had one and wanted to get rid of it somehow, so they passed it on to you. Not cool.

Best to leave it and put it down to one of lifes lessons to check everything next time.

No point in confronting him as he could easily say you have no proof thus resulting in a pointless/needless confrontation.

yeah but this has made me scared of gettign currencies changed

i mean you just bundled 53 100 yuan notes together. and gave it to me . Now how can i check each one of then carefully while standing at the counter...........he could have given me 20 fake notes and i would have never realized it!

even if i had the receipt..it would not have the notes number..i am wondering whats the best course of action to do to get money exchanged...and also geta good rate

Well if you want less risk then get it done at a bank but then the exchange rate won't be quite as good.

Oe withdraw it from a cash machine that also dispenses RMB.
