Or $100 at any of these clinics: Hospital Authority

Why do so many people choose to burn money when pregnant?

Indeed - suddenly The Pill seems to be very good value indeed.

We delivered at Pamela Youde in Chai Wan in January of this year. My wife stayed in for 5 days (baby was 5 weeks premature) and as mentioned, we paid $500 IN TOTAL! Baby stayed for another 6 days and again, we paid $600. Keep in mind this is in the public ward with 5 other mothers/babies so your privacy is limited to a curtain drawn around your bed.

Of course, the private hospitals are exponentially more expensive, but then as at Matilda, you're paying for close to 5 star room service and nothing more. In fact, I've read on GeoBaby that they won't accept high risk pregnancies there as they are not equipped to handle them. IMO, that would strike them off my list right away, since anything can happen during delivery.

At Matilda, not only do you get 5-star service, you also can get some privacy. No visting hour limits, no number of guest limits. And it is a wonderful place to recuperate after having the baby. And everyone speaks English. Expensive, though.

If the OP will head over to Geobaby, there is a rather complete and recent discussion of Matilda's costs. They also discuss some of the other hospitals, but most use Matilda.

PDLM--why do so many people choose to burn money on an expensive car or a fancy restaurant, etc...? Same thing, really.
