my hubby is a local so we use chopsticks about 50% of the time, even at home...

but one day i came into the kitchen to find him with an open jar of pickles trying to get the pickles out with chopsticks. it would NEVER have occurred to me to use chopsticks.

Guys I'm trying to track down a certain food I see a lot of locals carrying arround...

It seems like Chinese fast food and it's like a small jar filled with spaghetti looking food... It smells very good but I can't seem to find where the locals are buying it... Yeah, I have no local friend to ask that kind of question

Anyone know what I'm referring to and who sells it??

    Smile

Since you've already learnt :"Yau Mo" which mean "Do you have...?" (direct translation 'Yau Mo' = 'Have or Not')

    For utensils:
    Fork : "Charr"
    Spoon : "Chee Kangg"
    Chopsticks : "Fai Chee"
    Plate : " Tipp"
    Bowl : "Woon"

So you can ask "Yau Mo Charr" = Do you have a Fork?

    Have fun...

Yes, no Carrefour, Tesco, Walmart... I miss those too!

I have great respect for Chinese custom, and am fairly adept with my chopstick use, but sometimes a fork just makes more sense.

    As does a knife.
