On a serious note, having a fake ID card is a serious (UNDERLINE SERIOUS) offence in HK. I vaguely recall some guy getting one made in China as a joke and when it was spotted by police here in HK he got thrown in jail. Yikes. Not worth it for booze you can buy without ID anyway.
Here is one news article that highlights how serious it is: Jail term for woman who used fake ID card to hide real age from boyfriend | Hong Kong

Unlike back in UK, where there are no proper government issued ID cards, all sorts of IDs are, more time than not, accepted. Whereas in Hong Kong, its the government issued ID cards that count, and faking these are a serious offense.
"Anyone who possesses a forged Hong Kong identity card commits an offence. Offenders are liable to prosecution and upon conviction, the maximum penalty will be a fine of $100,000 and imprisonment for 10 years."
Speaking of fake ID, my friend wants to know if its easy to get a fake passport in HK? He said a guy on silkroad used to have good ones but hasn't found an alternative since it got shut down.
I'm pretty sure 7/11 shops don't really care about your age. I'm 16 and I can buy alcohol with no problems. Besides, If they really do ask you for a card, just walk away. It's not like they're going to call the cops and report you for attempting to buy alcohol underage.
One thing that OP can't yet buy legally is sex magazines.
I once saw a couple of expat schoolboys aged about 16 nervously trying to buy Penthouse or some other magazine from the stall at the old Star Ferry HK-side pier. The stallholder self-righteously pointed to the plastic wrapper stating it was not for sale to etc. They turned away, ashamed, deflated. I wish I'd had the sense to offer to buy it for them.
