I agree - oranges from the wet market are far better than the ones I have found in Wellcome, Park n Shop, Citi Super, Taste, or Great. I have befriended a fruit vendor in a nearby wet market - and I always ask her to choose my fruits for me. She hasn't failed me yet...
Recently she introduced me to a strange looking fruit - it's green and bumpy - she called it Buddha Fruit. I think it's actually called Custard Apple or Sweetsop. Yummy.

Even oranges here (in the San Francisco Bay Area) have been lousy lately.....they are dry and tasteless. Don't know about those that come from Florida tho!

Do they sell Mexican mangos in HK? They are gigantic and colorful in comparison to the Thais. Mexican mangos can be had for about $0.50 /ea. Our local Chinese supermarket is selling 7 for $3.99 in a Reynold's wrapped box. Some Asians said Mexican mangos are NOT as tasty but then some of my Mexican friends said Thai mangos were NOT as good. I stay out of it.
