How to cancel iCable as still getting billed

I've left HK for some time and still getting billed monthly by iCable for the Wireless Internet connection in our old apartment.

They said they cannot cancel the account for some time (perhaps another year!).

Has anyone else had this experience and managed to cancel the account?

Perhaps cancelling the credit card they have on record might be an option?

If you committed to pay for this period then you are obliged to pay - that is the contract you signed.

If they are billing you beyond the end of your contract period then dispute the charges with your credit card company. (But if you do that and iCable produce a contract that you signed then the credit card company will charge you a fee for wasting their time).

i've recently read an ad here wanting an i-cable contract.

    is your subscription transferable?

Generally the contracts aren't transferable, but there's nothing to stop samps arranging for the service to be provided at your address and for you then to pay samps.

Thanks, I think iCable were a bit sneaky as it seems our contract was a rolling contract, since we didn't mention we would cancel so they continued it for another 1 or 2 grrr...
