Good places to go camping in HK?

is there any place where a few teenagers can go camping in HK? theyre looking for maybe a beach or a place where they can go explore at day and camp at night? if it free then thats perfect, if not then it should be very cheap. theyre all around 16 and all boys. thanks for your help.

There are 41 official campsites in HK. Have a browse and take your pick.

One of the most popular is PuiO : on the beach, accessible by taxi and facilities and stores closeby.

Next in line, Tai Long Wan : Short hike away, stores and restaurants nearby.

The hostels that provide camping are also pretty popular : YHA - Hong Kong Youth Hostels Association 香港青年旅舍協會

Last but not least, there are a number of "holiday villages" in Hong Kong which are also popular as they have various activities, some have nice swimming pools, cantines etc. One that I've been to couple of times : Pak Tam Chung Holiday Camp

With all of them, having a Cantonese speaker along is a huge advantage. Many of the residents and the staff have very limited English skills. The top 2 are free. The bottom 2 are very reasonably priced.

If you don't wanna have to hike a lot to get to a beach camp site, try Long Ke Wan. Taxi from Sai Kung Pier HK$100, then easy 20-30 minutes hike to the beach. No shops, no nets, no guards, no people or only a few.

It's not really camping per se, but has anyone else tried Mingle Farm? My daughter loved it!

A few months ago, it used to be really popular to camp in front of the central government building... Very convenient to public transport - restaurants all around....
