If you were going to make a donation to a Hong Kong based charity every month, which one would you choose and why?

Charities that help humans and the weakest and most helpless amongst them. Usually this is involves children.
Lots of charities and groups in HK that help local children with a wide range of disabilities and needs.
Thanks to both.
While I have nothing against animal charities, I'd prefer the donation to be to one helping people. So far I have St James' Settlement on a short list. KnowItAll - any specific examples you can give?
Instead of wedding gifts we were asking for donations to the Riding for the disabled association. It was very well received.

Thanks to elle, KnowItAll and zenlogo for their suggestions.
Anyone else have a favourite local charity they would like to recommend?
Bethune House, but they really need to get their act together so that it is straightforward to make donations.
Is there anyone here at HSBC who could them on the list of charitable organisations to which one can make a donation that way?

Bethune House - is that the place in Jordan? And is it connected to the story I read in the SCMP today about a woman with cancer being denied a fee waiver by the hospital social worker and so will be charged HK$1000 for each treatment at QE hospital?
