I was talking to a colleague yesterday and she said her friend in Beijing lost 200k RMB recently from a fake PSB phone scam. She was a 30 year old paralegal (!) but was so afraid that her brain did not think it through before transferring the money. I don't know more then this as I didn't want to pry.

I guess the Chinese are so deathly afraid of the PSB they'll pay whatever to make the case go away. Sad state of affairs.

Actually I am in the legal field and Taiwanese do commit crimes in the Mainland but they are seldom prosecuted because of political sensitivities. I have worked on counterfeiting cases (intellectual property not counterfeit money) where the boss/factory owners were Taiwanese and they were never detained. Back 20 years ago before China was the land of counterfeiting this practice was a Taiwanese import. Last week I was in Taipei meeting with the police commercial crimes unit and we had a good laugh over this. Cheers!

Junk calls are not the same as scam calls, and these apps will not filter the scam ones due to the callers using apps to mimic legit numbers.

You have to skip forwards a little bit.
