I can't see why. If implemented in very crowded areas where using umbrellas is completely stupid. They are unnecessary - just go and buy a decent raincoat ffs. I was in causeway bay during some (light) rain last week and I was astounded at the number of people getting out their umbrellas for basically drizzle, keeping them up under covered walkways, walking into me and everyone else on very narrow streets - it's just stupid and unnecessary. I don't think HK would be laughed at; I think it would be applauded!

People who keep umbrellas up under covered walkways and not stepping aside to let non-umbrella users take shelter. Worst kind of people.

I thought of another one - people who use umbrellas when it ISN'T RAINING. Also parasol users when it isn't sunny.

First post here, just to totally agree with this. You're not going to change 8 million people, so at least have some fun instead of getting the short hand of the stick.

Also here it amazes me how people do not try to avoid collisions at all even though you can see they see it coming. Now, I used to still try avoiding impacts because I know I'm much heavier than them AND moving much faster than the slowpokes they are, so it's very obvious who's going to fly if we ram into each other. But even if you do your part, they're not doing theirs and are STILL mumbling at you. So now they all fly, can't fix stupid I guess.

Back to the umbrellas - my wife's solution is to get her arms out and push them all out of the way.

Given the umbrella revolution I think a ban on umbrellas might be misinterpreted

I saw someone with an umbrella when it wasn't raining at night. WTF? (Had they been a pregnant Filipina I would have understood)
