    3 receipt limit for parking

I went to validate parking last night. The sign said $400 for parking validation. The girl told me that the $400 had to come from 3 receipts or less. This is at a huge mall where one could easily shop at several different stores.

I had a long talk with the girl & she let it go this time, but I don't understand why it should matter if you spend $400 at one store or at 6 different stores. With a family, it's not uncommon for us to do a lot of little spending while at a mall and this 3 receipt rule pisses me off (Starbucks, food, snacks, toys etc)

You think they want to make it easy for you to get free parking?
Just another of Hong Kong's random rules to follow and the jobsworths to enforce...

Some malls have a 1 or 2 receipt limit to claim parking.

It's probably because your parking isn't exactly free, but paid by the shops.

I obviously understand the concept of validation parking, but why the restriction on how many places you can shop within the mall? Why should it matter if I spend 400 at one store vs. four stores?

The only thing I can think of is that it makes it harder for people to cheat and grab multiple receipts (that aren't theirs) at places like McDonalds.

If they didn't have rules like this, how long before someone developed a location-aware app to implement a market for live receipts?

If the shop and parking offer is crap, go to another mall especially considering you have a car, it's not surprising that stupid rules are implemented

There are some decent malls which have ok car parking offers

BTW, which mall which has this crap mall

Worst one I have ever had a problem with is Cityplaza. They wanted me to go back and get all receipts stamped at the shops I'd been to. As we'd been ice skating, shopping and had eaten in Ruby's and I had 2 completely knackered kids too I wasn't going to do that. No signs anywhere to say you have to. Staff were obnoxious as well. Never went back to that hole.
