I agree with Fiona's prediction too. Saw quite a few kids going to school today, can't have been easy getting them all safely back home. The govt will err on the side of caution on Friday.

HKO Just added 'occasional Force 8' to it's wind forecast for Friday. So 'gale force'...for those of you who enjoy storm watching it looks like we might get to enjoy some proper 'sustained winds'...we haven't seen those since #VICENTE in 2012...it was July so seas were obviously warmer...but still...I sat up all night with the doors open enjoying that storm...let's hope #HAIMA doesn't disappoint!

Down to cat 3 with winds at a mere 185kmph. We are nowhere near the eye but I would put it at a medium HK T8 for us at the moment.

I flew out of HKIA about eight hours before Vicente hit. I understand that it was epic.

Just rebooked my flight to Hong Kong from Saturday to Sunday. Hopefully it will have all cleared up by then. Cathay offered free booking but their website crapped out every time I tried so had to do it on the phone - went straight through at 5am though
