If that happens, certain people on here will cry hard enough to create similar levels of precipitation to the real typhoon

Not quite a damp squib but forecast to lose strength.

JTWC forecasting winds of 80 knots and gusts of 100 knots at 8am and dropping to winds of 55 knots and gusts of 70 knots at 8pm. During that time, Haima is expected to be affecting us.

    1 knot = 1.852 kph, approximately 1.151 mph.

I believe that will give us T8 and some pretty nifty winds in some areas. Of course there will be some where 'hardly a leaf stirred' as always.

Bugger, maybe I should change my flight back. Should have known better than to rely on Geoexpat bedwetters!

hahahahah the information has been out there the entire time TB But when the airline starts offering free re-bookings, they are ready to deal with cancellations. Like the last one to come through, the airport may well be in a real mess.

Can't see that on the website. Just this: "The Observatory will consider issuing the Strong Wind Signal, No.3 later today."

Someone at work sent round an email saying the HK Observatory has stated a 70% of T10 being issued - can't see that on their website though. It is a pretty poor website though.
