As Haima moves progressively towards the coast of Guangdong, there are signs that local winds are strengthening. The Observatory will issue the Strong Wind Signal, No.3 shortly.
T8 at 2am is my prediction

A total of 85 trains, mainly traveling between Jiangxi and Fujian, have been ordered to stop services between Thursday and Saturday, the Nanchang Railway Bureau said Thursday.

Meanwhile, all trains running between Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong will be halted on Friday, according to the Guangzhou Railway (Group) Corporation.

Railway authorities in Guangxi also canceled 20 trains linking with major cities in Guangdong, on Thursday and Friday.

Haima, the 22nd typhoon to hit China this year, was about 590 km southeast of Shenzhen at 4 p.m. Thursday. It was moving northwestward at 25-30 km per hour.

    Latest from Cathay:
Severe Typhoon Haima impacting flights to/from Hong Kong
    Latest update: 20 Oct 2016 19:30 HKT (GMT+8)

Severe Typhoon Haima to impact flight operations in Hong Kong.

We are expecting significant disruptions, including cancellations and delays, for flights to/from Hong Kong from approximately 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Friday, 21 October. Flights after 10:00 p.m. on Friday, 21 October, are subject to delays due to air traffic constraints. The situation is subject to change, so check back often for updates.

    CHECK FLIGHT STATUS

To see if your flight is affected, check your Flight status. If your flight has been cancelled, or your ticket has not been confirmed, please do not proceed to the airport. We will provide assistance with alternative arrangements.

    FLIGHT REBOOKING

Please use your Booking Reference Number to retrieve bookings in Manage Booking, as E-ticket numbers may have changed during ticket reissue.
Passengers who originally booked tickets via CathayPacific.com or Dragonair.com can choose to make alternative flight arrangements via Manage Booking. Otherwise, you’ll be automatically rebooked.

All other passengers, please note that passengers on cancelled flights will be automatically rebooked. Your new itinerary will be reflected in Manage Booking once available – please update your contact details to ensure you receive the latest flight status updates via SMS or email.
Passengers can also request a flight rebooking via our Booking change request form. Should you need an urgent change to your booking, please call our Global Contact Centres, though note that we’re experiencing a higher than usual call volume.

Rebooking and rerouting/refund charges will be waived where applicable. View details in the special ticketing guidelines.

As the weather forecast is subject to change, we advise all passengers to always check Flight status and public transportation status before departing for the airport. We will continue to try our best to get the affected passengers to their destinations as quickly as circumstances permit.
