    Doh, getting my monsoons and typhoons mixed up. Also, the HKO website looks like a leftover from a 90s GeoCities site, and the navigation is rubbish.

    Clearly I shouldn't have to google it when I'm on the HKO site. The effort required for them to make Strong Monsson Signal a link which explains the term is minimal, and should be considered mandatory from a UX perspective.

    This ultracrepidarian reckons Haima will shift eastwards, directly hitting Taiwan.

    Haima upgraded to a cat 4, still intensifying and still headed your way. The track has also edged south so will be hitting quite a bit of the top of the Philippines.

    It seems there is a sub-tropical steering ridge which will prevent that from happening, it's the break in the ridge that allows it to start heading northwards as it gets closer to us (current model).

    I'm more concerned about it washing out Saturday (as well as all the damage and potential loss of lives of course).
