    Home Beer Brewing Questions

I'm trying to set up my own carbonation rig at home, and have a Taprite regulator from the US. As cs0815 mentions, the thread between the tanks here and the regulator from the US is slightly off (US seems to use CGA320 standard, where as tanks here use the BS341 no.8).

Has anyone worked a way around this issue before? It seems I can either get an adapter, or swap out the stem/nut from the regulator. Has anyone tried either of these, and can suggest somewhere I can get the requisite parts? Thanks a lot!

There's a lot of stuff you can get *somewhere* in HK, but good luck finding it (typically, I leave home with 8 items on my shopping list, of which I find about 4, plus another 2 that weren't on my list, but I bought em coz they were available). Anyway, I wouldn't take anything for granted.

You can get CO2 cylinders here, but they have a different thread size. The problem is finding a regulator in HK... I'd just bring a regulator as well, if you plan on kegging (there's some manufacturer in the states where you can order the right nut, let me know if you need the info). Oh, yes, speaking of kegging... if you want to build a kegerator, bring those parts as well (though finding the right size fridge is a bit of a challenge)....

I ended up swapping out the nut of the regulator.
Or you can just get a new regulator at Brewcraft (maybe they also carry the nut).

    Good luck!

Check out the below group on Facebook. I know a few of the members on there who home brew on Lantau.

    Thanks!
@cs0815. Did you get the new nut in Hong Kong? Any suggestions where I could look?

    Thanks again

Sorry forgot to mention that I check with HK Brewcraft and they don't have them sold separately unfortunately

@shanghaikid606, I don't remember where I ordered that (somewhere in the US)... maybe Air Liquide or HK Oxygen might carry those.

There are quite a number of hardware stores on Mong Kok's Reclamation Street, a few of those sell nothing but industrial pumps and their accessories.

If you are lucky, you MIGHT get your adapter / nut there.
