    Question help for Sudeck Syndrome

A friend of mine has recently been diagnosed with Sudeck Syndrome in her right wrist. Does anybody know a physiotherapist here in Hong Kong who has experience in treating Sudeck?

    Have you contacted these guys?

    http://www.hkcos.org.hk/

Sounds like a fairly unique problem.... but they do have sudeck listed in their training programs.

Ruttonjee might also be a good place to start.

Might also want to try the Orthapaedic Unit at Princess Margaret Hostpital... they have a paper published on it ... (see if you can get a hold of the folks who have published this)

Is your friend willing to try the emotional freedom technique (EFT) developed by Dr Gary Craig? www.emofree.com No need to use medicines. Using this technique on friends I have seen amazing results in pain relief. One lady suffering from hernia had a surgery planned on Wednesday. I gave her a treatment on Saturday a few days before the surgery. On Tuesday she went to her surgeon to prepare for the surgery the next day and was told that the surgery was no longer needed as she relieved most of the pain.

Thanks KIA - Will contact them for her. I am uneasy about the Princess Margaret hospital - my hubby had a horrible experience there after a cycling accident last year and they srewed up big time - if it would be for them he'd ended up with a stiff elbow, not to mention a major infection he got while in the ward.... But the other links look really promising
Dreammaker - thanks for the idea, but her problem is not only the pain. Without regular therapy she might end up with a stiff and/or deformed wrist. I'll give her the info, the less pain the better

    Elle,

While there might be system related problems with Princess Margaret Hospital, might be worth your time to contact the doctor who published the paper. Quite often researchers like to help out, specially if you can pamper their egos.

    Thumbs up

KIA - Good idea, will try the "tickle the ego" approach...
