How to find a part time cleaner legally.

    Hi all,

I am a single person living in a small apartment in the New Territories, so in no way would I ever want a live in 'domestic helper' but I would like someone to come for 3 hours once a week just to give the place a clean. I know that for most of the people here on domestic helper visas it's illegal to do extra work. So my question is, does anybody out there have a once a week cleaner with permission to work and how do you find one? I want to keep everything above board and would be happy to hire a local as opposed to foreigner if I knew where to look for one.

    Thanks :-)

go to your nearest supermarket and find the notice board and put up an AD and state clearly "No FDH Visa applicants required"

We got our (local) helper from this site and we are very happy with her. Bear in mind that many of them only speak Cantonese and that you are still required to buy insurance, even for a part time helper.
