People have listed the faster more expensive way to kill them but the most common way is to get a couple of boxes of roach baits, place them in the right places and wait a few weeks for them to poison themselves back at the nest.

If that doesn't work then go extreme.

    Hello,
Week 1-3: 2-3 bombs in a 450 sqf flat; gel by the pest control company on skirtings/ cracks etc; spray by us whenever we see live ones.

Week 4: we put the house baits. This seems quite effective, kills more daily, around 20-40.

We just dont know how long more to bear with the sitiuation. It could go on for another 1-3 months before whole nest is wiped out.

FYI, on Week 1 when we have moved in, we have used
    1) pest control putting poisons
    2) 2-4 roach bombs
    3) sealed the skirtings and have poison sprayed at alot of cracks/ seams etc..

During Week 1- Week 3, we caught approximately 10-15 dead baby roaches on a daily basis.
Now we are at Week 4: we have added alot of roach baits in the house. On average, these baits work pretty effectively. We catch around 20-40 roach bodies (mostly babies) around the house daily.
We genuinely do not know where is the 'nest', or how severe is the infestation. But after 4 weeks, and we are still catching this many roaches, this means the problem is pretty severe. We would love to try out the above suggested methods, i am sure they would work till some point. But after living here for 4 weeks, we are exhausted to spending so much time and money cleaning the house and picking roach babies. My initial query was, would this go on for another 3 months before they are all wiped out? We are trying out luck to speak to agent this week, and move out of the flat if we could. We will not pay the penalty of not fulfilling the one year rental requirement, as it is infested house. We do not know if this is supported legally though. Thank you all!!!!
I think you are making the right decision to bail ass and leave. It sounds like a horror show. BTW you might want to upload a video and share it to the public what you have to go through.

It's possible you are defeating your own strategy. If you bomb AND bait, then the bait won't work. The point of the bait is to NOT kill quickly, but to allow the poison to get back to the nest where the dying roach is eaten by other roaches which then kills them all. So if you bomb them, they die in the open and don't ever get back to the nest.

I suggest you get some of the high efficiency bait roach as noted in various thread above (NOT the kind of thing you can buy in the supermarket) and give it time to work. It's not instant.

Also, you need to remove ALL kinds of food and water. Everything. And you possibly want to look outside your place too. Are you right on top of a restaurant? Do you have neighbours who put food rubbish out in the hall? All of that will affect how long it takes to get rid of them.

Check anything that is warm, rice cooker, hot water dispenser, fridge, aircon. Back of the fridge would be the first place I would look. Keep in mind they are night active. If you have wall cracks, glue them up.

If the kitchen is the main problem, under any closet might be a hotspot.

Where you find the most dead ones might give you an idea where to look first.

Thanks for the advice!! We will look into these areas. We have never been so clean in our lives like these 4 weeks..... ... no dishes in sink, dry kitchen, morning and night mopping....

I will suggest this to the agency and make them pay for it this time anyway, thank you!

guess your bomb smoke did hit the right place! Ours clearly hadn't... and now after moving in to bomb it again is difficult. All surfaces/fabrics has to be thoroughly cleaned again! lucky you.

Yea guess we were desperate, hence we did alot of things at the same time. We did bomb it prior to moving in, as we didnt know how severe the situation was back then. After the pest control came in to put the gel stuff, he asked us to wait a few weeks before putting the houses.

We will ask the agency to get us those strong houses as suggested. Thank you.

We live on 9th floor, far from F&B below in mall. We are uber clean these days, nothing is left out and we clean all the time....
