Can American Club Membership be rented out?

I have an American Club membership, the full voting rights membership. I was just curious if there is some kind of secondary market for these types of club memberships?

Someone once told me in passing either they or a friend was renting/leasing a membership, so they were not the owner. I can't recall who it was, it was a passing comment someone made a while back. I wasn't sure what they were talking about, and was curious if others have heard of this?

    Technically
    - Corporate yes (you can nominate an individual or two or whatever depending...),
    - individual - no.

I am always surprised at your knowledge of most esoteric subjects. How do you do it? Do you ask Siri?

No, been in HK for a bit too long... been there done that.

Siri asks me. But I only respond to Alexa's questions.

Indeed well at least the first point I can confirm. A lot of companies actually use a third party where they just rent the membership for their selected staff instead of buying it. It gives more flexibility (especially when a senior manager gets replaced) and many clubs have a x years waiting list.

Many brokers deal with this - look online e.g. King Peak, Everfine, etc
