That's a common misperception.
Once you are out of the picture you have no influence on how your money will actually be used.
So Chow has good intentions, but guys like Buffet or Gates are already distributing their wealth
and supervising the projects
Leaving your money to charity is not the wisest of decisions.
Some charities only deliver $0.30-0.40 per donated dollar to recipients. And even then, what this means for recipients is questionable. I have yet to see a charity head who does not have a decent salary and perks.
My wife and I are doing our annual charity bash, this time at a local orphanage on Dec 30th - providing food, clowns, games, school supplies and food stocks for later (bags of rice etc). 100% of donations (plus a bit more ) goes to the kids. So if you worry about the bosses taking the money - we take zero of course.
Just pm me, if I know the money is coming I can spend it in advance of receipt.
