    Are your windows ready for the next typhoon?

    Check every one of your windows, The Mira Hong Kong ordered, after falling panel hits and kills mainland Chinese woman
    owners of private buildings aged 10 years or more and with three or more storeys can be served with statutory orders to appoint a qualified person to inspect them and supervise and repairs.
    After the first notice is issued, window inspections should be done every five years.
    Last year’s Super Typhoon Mangkhut would have given a lot of older buildings’ windows a much needed stress test. If you live in an older building, do you think your windows will survive the next big typhoon?

    According to the Buildings Department, an inspection by a qualified person could cost between HK$250 to HK$1,300. Replacement of parts ranges from HK$60 to HK$360 per window.

    Didn't of the articles say that if you have your window inspected that you should "supervise" the works. What does that mean, if while the repairman is fixing the window, if it falls then there is still some blame on the tenant/homeowner?
