    Question SodaMagic Food Grade CO2

    Folks,
I am looking for any where in Hong Kong where I can get food grade CO2 to refill the CO2 cylinders!

I made the stupid mistake of buying a SodaMagic as we love us some fizzy water. But the CO2 refills that the soda magic guys are charging is insane. HKD 420 for what perhaps makes 30L of soda.

Love the product, hate the cost. Any tips appreciated!

I wish. I did find the pricing choice very conspicuous :P

    Thanks jrkob!

Hmm, so there's some controversy about why SodaStream doesn't exist in Hong Kong....which is why they don't have that license to refill. SodaMagic does but as a company they seem to have an existence only in Hong Kong....and nowhere else!

Right, so does SodaStream ship you the cylinders out to HK? Where do you order from?

In your research, did you find a list of licensees for CO2 refilling?

The key phrase is "up to". That's with almost no bubbles
    If I get 30L, I am happy.

Yet, I find it crazy that a refill of food grade CO2 costs HKD 320. Imma gonna have to make my own....

Does anyone have a further update on this? The refill costs mentioned above are crazy.

I presume they get CO2 in 20 or 30L bottles (or better call them steel tanks) and just exchange the bottles. Maybe from somebody like 'Linde'.

If you have those large bottle, and the right adapter for your bottle, it's quite easy to do. I used to refill LPG gas.

Thanks flameproof, but where to find adaptors and some place to buy the large bottles....
This is turning into a project!
