Matilda Show - HK ticketing refund for cancelled event

I bought tickets for Matilda way back before the summer. Over a month ago it was cancelled due to the protests.

I contacted HK ticketing about refunds and they said they are waiting for information from the organisers ‘lunchbox-productions’ and they said

we are currently working with all parties to prepare the refund procedure.”

How long doe it take? They have all the customers details. Shouldn’t be difficult!

Anyone else had similar issues with HK ticketing or Lunchbox?

Timing and amount of refund depends on the insurance paid and agreement with sponsor... most of the money has already been spent, so it will take longer to gather funds

Expect to wait another 3 months

I recently received my Trevor Noah refund, took about 7 weeks maybe ? Refunded directly to my credit card. I think you will get it, but not quickly.

    UK lunchbox is in liquidation.

Not sure who the HK agent or subsidiary is.

I suspect both some how contributed to the closure. May be HK season might have rescued the UK company?

One thing for sure, refunds may be problematic. No clue where the funds might actually be.

Refunds to CCs. are subject to the speed of the issuing bank(s)/card issuer.

same issue, have been chasing both Lunchbox Productions and HKTicketing for months. An affiliate company of Lunchbox is in liquidation so I suspect they are heading for the same but blamed the protests/poor ticket sales to cancel the performance. Very frustrating given that the CEO of that company is apparently an OBE but showing complete dishonesty in handling of this issue. You can find phone numbers and email addresses for Lunchbox on their website (moderator wont let me post on here Alternatly if you booked on Credit Card you can raise a dispute claim with them and they will likely refund you (and chase the merchant on their own behalf).
