BLS-INDIA passport reissue. How long does it usually take?

Does anyone have an experience with passport reissue through BLS-INDIA? It's over 65 days since I applied, but their website still shows "processing" and I am unable to contact them in whatsoever way. The phone numbers keep me on hold and they don't reply to email queries, it seems.

No other way than physically going there and making thorough checking. This particular vendor is really incompetent at handling. My friend was turned down with his application for renewal of passport for about 3-4 times before they finally accepted it. Similar experience for my colleague, who wanted to apply new passport for his new born.

There are a couple of email addresses on the Indian consulate website. I'd also try them. Not sure if they respond or not, but worth a shot. The BLS facility gives me anxiety attacks - messed up people and frustrated counter staff.

Also, BLS has moved a week or so ago... new location.

Thanks. Wrote and email and received SMS that passport is ready. May be one needs to sometimes send an email in case they missed to send an sms

The passport was issued within 14 days of application. However the bls site kept showing "processing.." even after 65 days. Only after sending emails did the SMS come. Not sure if this lag was because they were shifting office to the new location.

They are horrible. And if you research BLS, there's enough evidence of crony capitalism linked to providing this service rather than this being a core business competency.

I am in the process of applying for indian passport renewal and submitted the application online based on details mentioned on Indian Consulate website in HK. However, i am not sure what to do after this. I know this application needs to be made in person, do i just visit BLS anyday to submit the hard copy of the application along with relevant documents? I did not find any link for making an appointment before hand..very unclear about the steps involved. Any guidance in this regard is appreciated.

You need to take your printed application to the BLS office - no "appointments". Be prepared to make two to three visits, unless you have super human abilities to predict what supporting docs are needed.
