Shipment Delay from USPS to Hong Kong?

Hi All,I had a shipment coming from LA to Hong Kong using USPS first class international service. It was shipped from LA on February 9 and arrived in Hong Kong on Feb 14, but I the tracking system still has not updated its status in 6 days now. The message is as follows:February 14, 2020,11:15 am Departed HONG KONG Your item departed a transfer airport in HONG KONG INT'L, HONG KONG on February 14, 2020 at 11:15 am. The item is currently in transit to the destination. I also check Hong Kong Post tracking and it said the package cannot be located in its system. So I suppose it has not yet transferred from USPS to Hong Kong Post. What is "transfer airport"? Do you guys know why this is the case? I have heard due to recent coronavirus, all shipments from USPS to China and HK will be delayed, but the item is already in Hong Kong, so why is it still stuck at the "transfer airport"? Thanks!

So how long does it clear customs? I have had DHL and FedEx shipping that clears customs in matter of a day or two, but a week for custom clearance?

DHL and FedEx aren't backlogged like HK Post. If you have read up on HK Post, they are behind and you have to be patient.

May I know did you receive the package and when did you receive it? I’ve already stuck in the statement “Your item departed a transfer airport in HONG KONG INT'L, HONG KONG” for 11 days!

Expect delays of up to 3 weeks because of HK Post. Had a package arrive in Hong Kong on the 16/17th of July but didn't get it till the first week of August.

I had a package supposed to be delivered in priority mode, the package was on the way from the airport on Sunday, got it on Friday, I live 5 minutes away from the airport. So yes expect delays! Took I think 2 weeks in total when it was supposed to be a few days
