This is probably the weirdest question I'll ever ask on this forum, but:
Does anyone know where to responsibly dispose of mercury (the heavy metal) in Hong Kong?
The background story:
I decided to get some exercise in my staircase this morning, and found an abandoned mercury switch on the top floor. I guess a very responsible and professional contractor cut it out of some ancient equipment on the rooftop and then just left it in the staircase.
It looks like this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercur...ut_housing.jpg
My moral predicament:
The mercury switch doesn't belong to me and arguably isn't my problem, but the idea of this thing getting buried in the New Territories fills me with sadness and disgust. So, does anyone have any suggestions for how I could responsibly dispose of it? I'm also open to giving it to someone on the forum, provided they have a legit use for mercury (not sure if we have any NileRed fans or chemistry teachers on this board).
Thanks everyone!
