    AAVS for kids Octopus card?

I setup AAVS on my Octopus card just so I can cancel my card if I lose it. (the auto top up is abinus and actually quite useful)

AAVS can only be setup for over 12 year olds. What is the option for under 12 year olds? Auto top up is optional!

There's no way to add value to an Octopus card without physical access to it other than AAVS due to a technical limitation of Octopus cards .

If you can't have AAVS, you can either add cash at a convenience store or MTR station, or use an Android phone with NFC capabilities to top it up by FPS to your Octopus account then tapping the card against your phone.

Sorry, I should of made my OP clearer. My main concern is how to recover my son's Octopus card if he (or us) loses it. He is only 3. For Adult cards, one option is to setup AAVS. What is the option for under 12's?

You need a personalised Octopus for your kid

I just tried looking on the app and cannot see an option to register it. The personalised Octopus is a good option, will give that a go, thanks!

sorry to necro this thread but I think this information should go here

I found out the hard way today that Standard Chartered only does AAVS for their supplementary credit card holder so children above 12 are unable to be included in the card even thou octopus company/SCB terms and condition says its possible. I'm going to try Citibank and I believe it will work

@ycchai Citi should work. We used to have our son's student octopus on it. Later days it was HSBC Red.
