    Cockroach problem - Biokill?

There has been construction work going on in nearby flats and cockroaches have infested my apartment. First, it was cockroaches crawling through the main door through the lobby.

These are the black kind (I believe they are oriental species). I used biokill in my kitchen and toilet. I don't see cockroaches around when they are sprayed but when my cleaner mops the floor with bleach and I do not spray again, they come back.

If anyone how how biokill works, will be happy to understand. Any tips on how to get rid of them without using professional pesticide services?

I was gonna say that as well

But also my experience- I’ve used it twice and no roaches came out. I don’t know why, I was thinking perhaps they were beetles and not roaches but this was a year ago at least

I also had this problem. The cockroaches were climbing up the scaffolding and entering through the balcony.

    I took a multi-pronged approach.

    1. Spread a light coating of Borax at all entrances and windowsills. Borax destroys cockroaches, it's the equivalent to them walking through glass. They then go back to their nest and kill their entire family. Borax is generally safe but read the label.

    2. Spray Permethrin based insecticide in all crevices. Biokill is Permethrin based. It's generally safe but dangerous to fish (and geckos ). Read the label .

This stuff is the most effective thing I have ever used. We did the whole place about 3 years ago. Baited every room . Not seen one since.

I have two families of geckos at my apartment - who are killing cockroaches faster than I do.

    Well, of course this happens!

Biokill (the red bottles, not sure what the orange ones are) is basically permethrin. iirc its basically a neurotoxin for insects, with no effect on people.

If the cleaner wipes away the permethrin, then there's nothing there to kill insects.

If you want it to keep working, spray it somewhere that the cleaner isn't going to clean. If the cockroaches are coming in via another path though, it won't help. It has to be where they walk around.

Amazon. I also used a very similar product that I bought in HK manufactured by Bayer, also did the job.
