Fix Baggage Allowance on Trip.Com Booked Ticket

Hi all, I have some trouble with my ticket booking online and was wondering if someone can help.

I have confirmed a ticket for my helper online. However, I did not pay enough attention to realise the whole trip only allows baggage of 7kg per leg and not the 20kg which the help is entitled to. Is there anything I can do now to remedy it? She is leaving on Monday, appreciate it if any of you can give me early advice.

    Thanks a lot!

Depends on the carrier and flexibility of the ticket you purchased. Most likely the change booking fee is more than the price of paying excess baggage or booking a new flight.

Surely asking the airline is the best idea?!

    Thanks both for the reply.
@TheBrit. I checked the site and found the number to call. Got the issue sorted now. Thanks!

How was the issue resolved? Did you have to upgrade or the airline comped the extra baggage?

Assuming the helper is Filipina and if the airline was Cebu Pacific, they have let me change the baggage option and just pay the difference. Same with the food option.

@shri - Sorry, did not check back soon enough so didn't realize you left a question here.

Good thing that there is real person to take your call. I told the other party of my situation. The way to solve it is that Trip send me a payment link for me to pay the difference. It shows the details of which leg gets the increase to make sure things get right

@hullexile - that's exactly what I did, paying the difference. Total amount turned out to be $3xxx for a one-way ticket to Indonesia. Not cheap
