    Loo cleaners

I have to rant. Because of IBS I often have to spend long time in the loo. Because of said IBS I also often need to find/use the nearest loo. In one of those along my route to work, there's a cleaning lady that spends her time yacking on the phone non-stop. One call ends, another starts. NEVER have I observed her actually cleaning; and I know it's the same woman because she has the most annoying nasal voice ever! - Why can't HKG employ loo cleaners that actually do their job! 😡

Imagine being the person who actually finds joy and pride in the morning and goes .. let's clean some shit for minimum wage.

Start putting locations like malls, hotel lobbies etc in your Google maps and avoid govt shit holes ..

Compared to pretty much any Western nation I have visited, HK public toilets are pretty good. Open 24/7, no needles on the floor, no dodgy people to avoid, not completely filthy. Some are better than others but it's fundamentally a toilet.

Absolutely this. My local town in the UK has one public toilet (admittedly spotless) and is only open from 730am to 6pm. I don’t have IBS but let’s just say I’m more regular than once a day and I do 20K steps daily. It’s not that hard to map out where toilets are and there a VERY FEW that are in a poor way. It’s a massive credit to HK (and its people) that we have clean, freely available facilities.

HK has hardly any public toilets- none in the MTR (OK, some few stations), etc. Taiwan, OMG, an immaculate toilet every block, some 7-11s even have public-ish toilets. Wow, just incredible. Have never been in a country like this, no, not even Japan. Seriously, never even have to wait at a women's room, since some MRT stations here have MULTIPLE toilets both in the public area (unpaid) and paid area behind the ticket gate.

Bliss. The lack of toilets at MTR stations is very poor.

As a result, I never smell piss anywhere, ever in Taiwan. Not something I can say about, well, most major cities on planet earth. And it's hot and humid here, you would smell it, trust me. I still remember the strong fragrance everywhere on my first trip to Rome in August, 1983...about the same climate as Taiwan (only August in Rome is June-September in Taiwan).

Gent's toilets in Hong Kong are smoking clubs. Bit weird.

HK has nice public toilets? LMFAO!

Never saw a brown gradient toilet seat before living here...

Don't understand why MTR must have entirely closed off spaces instead of just turnstiles on the sides or right before accessing the tracks?

Malls? Go up three floors, walk 5 mins, WS always tucked away in obscure places.

HK is shit for finding WS in a pinch.
