5th floor with no lift LOL, off course its going to be expensive, having to lug all them heavy items down the stairs, i once visited a mate in SYP and he lived on the 5th floor as well with no lift. holy crap i nearly died of a heart attack going up there, ordered delivery food and the delivery guy goes we dont walk up stairs FFS, down we go and up again with KFC haha greasy KFC was not worth the pain n suffering going back up

Suck it up and pay the 7.5K for going down stairs and up again in the new place.

Can anyone please recommend a mover (not so expensive) that provides service to dismantle, move and assemble furniture?

We have a bunk bed that needs to be dismantled, move from 5/F (no lift) in Sai Ying Pun and transport to the new apartment 3/F also in SYP area. Also other stuff like 2 ikea cabinets (W78cmxH76cmxD40cm), one ikea wardrobe (W49cmxH186cmxD55cm), 2 TVs and maybe 5 small boxes of clothes.

We plan to move on 26 Sept (Thurs).

    Any suggestion please. Much appreciated.

I know guys who could it done for 6.5K, but not less than that.

That would be practical if the furniture have defects, but they are all in perfect condition.

I've contacted EA movers as suggested by domokun and they quoted $4,400 including dismantling and assembly of the bunk bed and wardrobe - total 8 floors. The staff was polite and responsive. Let's see how it goes on the moving date

Possible to bring the bed down with ropes? Could be less damage to your furniture and the walls.

Hello guys. So, just to give an update for everyone. We finally moved everything yesterday (1st Oct). As mentioned before, we used EA Movers as suggested by domokun. They quoted total HK$4,400 including dismantle/assembly of the bed + total 8 floors. Paid half as deposit and paid the balance after they have moved and assembled everything. They arrive at the pick-up address earlier than the agreed time, did everything very quickly (wrapped the furnitures, etc) and we are all done within an hour. I was very impressed with their professionalism (no grumpy faced despite the fact that they need to walk up and down total 8 floors, kudos to them!). Will definitely recommend EA Movers and thanks again to @domokun for the idea.

domokun, shri, emx and 2 others like this.
