my helper needs laundry and ironing training - where?

my helper really needs someone to show her how to do laundry. i know it sounds easy but she needs it. how to clear stains, how to dry clothes in the HK climate, how to sort laundry so it doesnt color, how to iron different pieces of clothes and be efficient about it, and so on.

i could do some of it myself but it's not efficient and i might not be the best either. is there any recommendaton for this sort of training?

I doubt it would take more than a fiver minute conversation to sort that out.

How to dry clothes in HK climate? What are the options besides leave them outside or put them in a dryer? Tell her how you want her to do it.

With all due respect, why don't you show her? As you said, it's easy and obviously you know better than her.

Well for many years my route was to put them on a rack in the small spare bedroom with a dehumidifier.

Could you get a more experienced helper to advise her?

The drying I can understand, and the ironing as well (we just hang in the sun and a couple of hours later take them in and fold with no need to iron anything) but the colour separation is strange.

Find a helper to train your helper, odd as it sounds. many helpers from ( insert here ) simply don’t have the experience with delicate textiles and: ironing.

Google/Youtube? Dunno how someone can be a helper if they can't even do the basics.

Ironing I can maybe understand, but drying? You hang it up and wait for it to dry. No excuses there, unless the person is retarded.

I was assuming they must be expected to do something else based on the OP. Otherwise why specifically mention how to dry in Hong Kong?

Can't imagine that taking more than a minute to explain whatever it is.

This is an odd thread topic both for the fact that the helper doesn't know how to do laundry - something I would think is a basic skill for helpers . . . and that you can't run a couple of loads through the wash and explain how you want it done - I'm assuming you know how it's done.

Even if an experienced helper shows your helper generally how it's done, maybe it's not done to your liking (i.e. t-shirts rolled vs. tri-fold).

So it might not seem efficient on the front end, but you taking two hours to show the helper exactly how you want the laundry done will payoff for two years.
