If you're in a normal owned or rented apartment and they are fixing things that are clearly the responsibility of you or your landlord then I would say it's certainly acceptable, although maybe not required. If it's somehow related to a building issue (for example, RCBs tripping because of a power glitch) then less so.
If you're in a serviced apartment then that's different. When we were living in one we LaiSee'd all the staff (concierge, housekeeping and maintenance, about 20 in total) $100 each at CNY and felt that was sufficient.
Don't start a trend here like for waiter/ress at 15%-40% of the bill.
The tip will always be welcomed, who does not like free money.
So far I have never tipped the maintenance staff as their wages are higher and is their job.
I would give them luck money at LNY.
