    Laguna Verde - Convenient?

Contemplating a possible move to HungHom. Visited a few flats in respectively Harbour PLlace (so so), Royal Peninsula (quite nice and next to the MTR) and Laguna Verde (nice environment but a bit far off the main center).

Madam works in KT so I guess for her no real issue to reach the office (is MTR the best tho?). However, I work in Pacific Place? Is this convenient? what is the best:

    - Walk to the Star Ferry Pier, Star Ferry to WanChai, Walk from WanChai (I am used to HK weather so no problem, even in summer). How long would this be?
    - Walk to the MTR and then MTR to Admiralty. How long would this be?
    - are there any direct bus no too far from the estate (found a few on the internet, such as 115...) but not too sure where you take them and how long it takes to walk from the bus stop from LV.

    Thanks
    Mat

I find that LV's relative quiet is worth its slight "inconvenience" (though I don't consider it to be that inconvenient, as I live right by the main bus stop and have no reason to take the East Rail).

If "KT" means Kowloon Tong, then your wife can also take the minibus. The 2A stops by Laguna Verde, but I suggest to always go to the Whampoa terminus -- it's usually full by the time it hits LV. (My husband also works in Kowloon Tong and instead prefers to walk to the East Rail Station. If you like to take the train, that's fine, but I prefer the bus generally. )

    - Walk to the Star Ferry Pier, Star Ferry to WanChai, Walk from WanChai (I am used to HK weather so no problem, even in summer). How long would this be?
It depends on where you live in LV. If you live in building 25, the closest to the pier, it would be at most a 10 minute walk to the pier, a 10-15 minute ferry ride, and then the walk to your building (sorry, don't know how long it is from the pier as I've worked in Central and Sheung Wan only).

    - Walk to the MTR and then MTR to Admiralty. How long would this be?
Walking to Hung Hom station: 15-25 minutes
Train to Admiralty: 15-20 minutes (including walking at TST)

    Better options:
    1. Take 26 (26x) minibus ($4.40) to Jordan station, take train to Admiralty. Approx 20-30 minutes
    2. Take 8p to TST, getting off at HK Culture Center. Train from TST to Admiralty. Approx 20-30 minutes. (You can also take the 8p to the TST pier and take the boat to Wan Chai, if you prefer the leisurely route.)

The 26 minibus and the 8p regularly leave from the Laguna Verde bus station. The bus station is located in phase one, beneath buildings 4 and 5. If you live in phase 1 or 2-3, it's at most a 5 minute trip from your door to the bus stop.

    - are there any direct bus no too far from the estate (found a few on the internet, such as 115...) but not too sure where you take them and how long it takes to walk from the bus stop from LV.
Every weekday morning, the 115P (click for full bus route) leaves from the Laguna Verde bus terminus (see above). The bus departs only twice, at 8:10 and 8:25, and you trip would take roughly 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic. I used to take the 115P, but I don't like the traffic. I prefer taking the 26 (/26x, a shortened route) and then transferring at Jordan -- much faster.

There are several other buses that aren't too far from LV. There is a bus terminus at Whampoa (5-10 minute walk from your doorstep) as well as a number of buses stopping along Mau Tau Wai (15-20 minute walk, depending).

I was really charmed by 3 when we looked there, but I live in 12A and the breeze off the water is so much nicer here! Plus it's extremely convenient to Fisherman's Wharf, where there's a small grocery.
