I'd like to take a calligraphy class. Any idea where I can do this? I haven't had much luck with online searches.
Thanks!

I know a good teacher in the HK side. I took classes from him when I was in Hong Kong. If i am not wrong it was $800/8 lessons. Let me try to find his contacts and i will PM you. By the way, do you speak Cantonese? His lessons are conducted mainly in Cantonese... though i heard he has english speaking classes as well..
I am also very interested in this, but I do not speak Cantonese. I'd appreciate any info you can dig up as well. Thanks!
You might as well try YMCA at TST.
They do have weekday class, conducted in Canto for sure.
Ok sorry for the late reply, had been away for some time. Try calling Mr Pun at 9367-5031 to ask for more details...He does speak English, just call and find out what he can offer..
Its was really hard to find some places which teaching chinese calligraphy with teacher who speaks English. After lots of research in the last 2 months, I've just figure out 2 places:
Multiarts Gallery in Taikoo Place/Quarry Bay - 852-2967 0017
Cecilia Art Studio in Wan Chai - 852-2520 2526
The first one was deeply recommended by Man Luen Choon, on of the most famous and with a large variety of arts items in Hong Kong.

Try HKU SPACE, CUHK CE, or HK Arts Centre. The instructors there might speak English though medium of instruction would be mostly in Canto/Mandarin.
Nothing beats learning Chinese ink painting and poetry through calligraphy.
The brush is the soul of the pre-modern Chinese literati. Anyway..
