Will this a Nokia 6590i work in HK?

Hello, I have this phone, model is Nokia 6590i. The phone, according to nokia's website works on GSM/GPRS 850/1900 MHz.

The phone is unlocked, I have tried a CSL sim card in it, in the United States, and it connects to a cell phone service here in America.

    Anyone know?

    Thanks

No. It will not work here. HK's GSM networks operate on 900/1800.

You can use CSL's SIM card because SIM cards are not dependant on frequencies, the phone is simply allowing you to access the local network (850/1900) because CSL has a roaming agreement with Cingular.

    ( Ancient press release talking about CSL's frequencies - http://press.nokia.com/PR/199811/778299_5.html )

Another point is that if you use your own provider's SIM card whilst over there, make sure they haven't got a ban in place for international roaming. It is common for this to be the case with UK providers and you have to phone/email them to disable the ban.
