    Question Freelance/Contract work

If I was interested to do freelance or contract work for a company do I still need to obtain a work visa? I also read somewhere that you cannot do freelance/contract/part-time or set up your own business unless you are a perm. resident ie have been living here 7 years...

You need a work or investment visa to contract or freelance... and expect to be paid by a local company.

Overseas companies can pay you overseas and send you to Hong Kong on business.

http://www.immd.gov.hk would be the best place to research basics.

(I'm having a meeting with an international company here in HK and they want to discuss me freelancing for them)
