Rubbing alcohol can work wonders on surface scratches, if you are trying to get something like paint off of your car's paint.
But if the scratch is too deep, no polisher is going to work.
Further, if the scrath gets down to metal, you might end up with a rust problem.
And trying to match a car's paint color for a scratch is difficult because the original paint color will have faded/changed in this sun/salty, toxic air mixture you are driving in.
These guys are the best out there and are here locally too with offices.
Check out their web site and none other than Jay Leno is found there advocating for this fine outfit.
Meguiars is also a very interesting story and terrific history from a family operation to being part of a Fortune 500 entity and 3M.
Hong Kong locations for products here - below is just part of where their products are in HK. Other pages show for Lantau, NT and Kowloon:

Ah, wasn't aware of the Jay Leno connection, though know of his mania for serious wheels.
Saw Meguiars polishing products in three auto accessories shops along Shantung St (around nos. 67 to 80), and also in "Hing Yip Hong" at 19-C Nelson St, all in Mong Kok, where I bought similar stuff incl. near-matching paint touch-ups.
Hm, tho' quick dab & stroke over wee scratch wasn't exactly seamless, will do for zee ole secondhand... for now.
No signs of rust (yet).
Will try the Meguiars stuff.........
