Water purifier vs watsons/bonaqua water

Just moved to a village house in Sai Kung and just noticed that the water sometimes comes out yellowish (from rust we think) Are water purifiers all that they are cracked up to be (do they really work) or would we be better off with a dispenser? Which would be more economical in the long run.
Also got a baby on the way and have heard stories about water quality affecting them (lead, other metals etc) so quite concerned.

I'd go with the dispenser. That way you don't have to worry about whether the filter really is filtering the problem or changing the filter when it expires.

is the village house yours or rented. If rented speak to the owners as my next door neighbours water was also coming out rusty, all 3 owners of each individual floors chipped in to get the outside piping replaced. Dont know how much it cost.

Using dispenser is easier but also costly in the long run and also you need to keep on ordering and waiting for delivery which to me is a pain in the rear unless u have someone at the house all the time.
