Eh? The Employment Ordinance says nothing about Indecent Assault. If my boss assaults me in the office then that is a criminal matter under (from memory) the Crimes Against The Person Ordinance. It is completely independent of my employment contract. The Labour Department doesn't deal with cases of Indecent Assault.

Something still doesn't feel right about this to me.

And yes, if someone with the right contacts can get a bank account set up for donations then I'm in for a reasonable sum.

wow that is really cheap and terrible of the company to not of offered a more handsome reward. A tin of biscuits is almost insulting!

I wonder if this would help her case in court at all, speeden the process up in her favour, enable her to get a job quickly etc.

Things like this just make you think what's the point in being honest or trying to help others when they don't even appreciate it. Even if the biscuits were given from the employee, couldn't she of forked something from her own pocket ? I mean she pretty much saved her job I'd thought! Like $1000, just something to show gratitude!

    This should have two benefits

There will be a flood of donations from the general public.

A whizbang lawyer will take up her case pro bono and not only bring the culprit to justice but also sue the pants off the employer and the Labour Department for unnecessary pain and suffering over the last two years.

I say the Geoexpat should start the ball rolling .
something similar happened in Argentina http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/8039240.stm

    I'm with you - I'll happily donate
