A lot less exotic than that. Why is this sort of thing always raised when there is death related to a Filipina. Wasn't that stuff thrown up at the DB helper death?

I was told some (apparent) details which haven't been made public. Going to wait and see if what I was told is true.

Surely our Chip must have had a hand in unhinging the the poor girl's mind, and making her do what she is supposed to have done.

There's always a tendency with this kind of thing for people to try to make it a vehicle for whichever set of prejudices they hold.

You can speculate that the problem was 'caused' by the employer being mean and unreasonable if that suits your agenda. You can speculate that the problem was 'caused' by the helper being crazy and superstitious if that fits your agenda. You can then extrapolate a lot of 'connections' from this. Of course, none of us actually know what happened, probably we never will, and even if it turns out to be one or the other, both, or neither, it doesn't really tell us anything much about the situation in general. It will just be the details of this particular tragedy.

The only thing that's clear is that this kind of journalism - mindless speculation masquerading as analysis - is unfortunately becoming more and more prevalent.
