one thing used in the US is baking soda.

You can put an opened box of it on the floor in the closet to deter odors. This can also be done in the refrigerator.

You can sprinkle some on a carpet and let it stand for an hour or two then vacuum it up, to remove smells.

Bender's problem might be lower quality.
Even if they are the same brand names, companies may send garments made of inferior fabric to asian countries. The shirts are made of inferior fabric.

There might be fabrics that do better than others in south asia.
There are three classes of fibers:
    natural (silk, cotton, linen),
    manmade (nylon, tencel),
    and synthetic (polyester).
Cotton will absorb moisture and mould smell faster than others.

Where is that laundry? The ones I have been to only wash/dry for $35-40, but no ironing.
Well, Sunshine laundry (a local chain) costs around $24 for a 7 pound load in my hood. But I believe pricing varies depending on location.

However, the laundry only comes back folded, not ironed. A washed and ironed shirt (not dry cleaned) costs $18 each. Sunshine also uses fabric conditioner sheets too, but I think the smell is too intense.... maybe it's not Bounce

Wait, I thought cold water caused shrinkage? Oh, that was another thread...

Cold water is what you wash your clothes in so they don't shrink. Then you hang dry them.
