I'd also like to know where to find whole grain wheat (and rye and pumpernickel) bread in HK.

We've been buying the tiny and extremely expensive packs of 6 or 8 very slices of whole grain rye and pumpernickel bread that are on sale in CitySuper (in the Times Square, CWB CitySuper, they're in the same bin as the small pre-packaged cheeses opposite the deli counter).

That works for sandwiches, but we'd rather be able to buy regular loaves of the stuff.

your best option is probably Great (in Pacific Place) they have a good bakery section. But nothing cheap. Have you tried baking your own? A breadmaker is not that expensive and can turn out pretty good loaves with practise.....

My local Wellcome (Robinson Road) sells packs of pumpernickel, various wholegrain breads (including some from organic flour), rye breads, and various others (with sunflower seeds, walnuts, whatever). All in the La Rose Noire concession.
