it was awesome! thanks for the pointer!
I am only here for 3 months, so I guess I won't ever settle down properly. I'm just looking at it as an extended trip to HK. As much as I love Chinese food, but I'm really missing simple things like salads, tomatoes and foods without loads of E numbers added to them!
The other thing I miss is my house, living in such a small living space feels claustrophobic!
On the plus side, at weekends I'm able to explore other corners of HK that I didn't see when I was here on a short break. Not many of us get the opportunity of living in an exciting place like HK.
I felt the same when I first returned to Hong Kong, and I will be visiting for a longer stay this coming Feb & Nov 2010.
Has your group members got together and just socialised?

I just miss my friends and family. But I dont feel like going back at all.Havent been homesick or depressed like you
I posted earlier in this thread stating I was homesick at times and felt isolated. However, I have just returned from the UK and decided to stay for another 12 months at least. I have met a good group of friends here, and feel that the UK doesn't have much to offer anymore.
I've been living in Hong Kong for 5 years now. I have never felt homesick. However when I was leaving the US, I kind of left on really bad terms and I still have a lot of bitterness and contempt for the US government.
hey Aterbbs,
sorry to hear ur homesick...i had similar feeling...i was born in hk and raised elsewhere...so when i had a chance to return to hk for a job, i took it...coz i thought hk was the coolest place ever...during my school years i had revisited hk many times.....but unfortunately when i did come to work..it was totally different than when i was a visitor...the place just became too small too quickly....too many people...all clustered...and most of my family was not in hk anymore....i say a job is important but ur happiness is something that should not b sacrificed...should u find in another half a yr, u really aren't happy u should try relocating back to canada.
Lived in 6 countries. Never been homesick, it's all about your attitude. It's a small world and flights are cheaper than ever before. It takes most people 6-12 mths to feel settled in a new place.
